I liked the drive and momentum in this piece.
I imagine to get the maximum rhythmic effect both parts need to be spot on the beat, and as you confess, this is the only thing that is holding back the realization. With a really good piano sample and an ironed-out (mainly quantised not rubato) performance I imagine this could be an effective piece.
