Is this just me? this is so ba

Is this just me? this is so basic I thought it would be in the lsit of ?bugs but couldn't find it.

2.4.2 in XP (I had to recently re-download everthing!)

Select a region (ctrl-mouse)
convert it to notes qcrn
hit DEL

COmposer terminates with message "runtime error! Abnormal project termination
