Hi Ken,
This "splitting of the dotted note" is on the make-it-better list. In the meantime you can (1) select the tie and (2) click the "collapse tie" button in the palette tool bar to make the split/tied note into a dotted note. Sorry for the bother. ttfn, Sherry
