He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother Duet
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" was written in 1969 by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. The song is widely associated with Father Flanagan's "Boys Town" and was first made popular by the Hollies. When it came to capturing this song for a duet, it got complicated. Neil Diamond also had a popular recording of it, and additionally, Glen Campbell, The Osmonds and others also made popular recordings of the song. The lead sheet I had was yet another variation. In the end, my wife and I more or less included bits and pieces of all sources. So, the end result may be that all of you folks might not prefer which variations I included, but we like the end result.
If you would like to see the lyrics or the chords, you can use Composer commands to display them: for lyrics use qsl; for chords use qscn. Ralph R. Rayner |
