There are some size rules for attachments. .not, .mid, and .zip files can be up to 1.91 MB, which is too small for most .wav, or even .mp3 files. Mp3 files are already condensed, so there isn't much to be gained by putting one in a zip file. As far as I've been able to find out, an mp3, though, is about the best compromise between midi and .wav in translating a .not file into one that can be easily accessed. Have you considered SoundClick? A free account allows 10MB at 128 kbps per selection. I don't know how many selections are allowed, but I have over 40 there. You could take a look a

www.soundclick.com to set up an account, which at least when I did it, meant setting up a user account, then a band account. Once that's done, you can go to the band account, click add a song, upload it, then edit the title, include remarks and lyrics, if any.
There is also a paid version of Soundclick which allows 40 MB per selection with mp3 quality up to 320 kbps, no ads, and song promotion.
Other than having a forum listener load the exact sound fonts you used, and have the same system, the mp3 is the best way to get the most computers hearing the closest to what you heard when recording a piece, as far as I've yet been able to learn.
I have sometimes posted a .not file to the forum so that anyone interested could look at the score and included the Soundclick URL, or added it later, to the same thing.
