only left speaker plays when using Notation Composer
I recently downloaded and installed NC 5.1.0 and it seems now playback only comes from the left speaker. It is not the sound settings of the computer as I checked the balance in sound settings and all other audio devices work properly. and I checked balance in staff set up for each instrument in composer -whether set to 0 ,127 or 64 all sound only comes from left speaker . The weird thing is when I test the Notation software synth in set up configuration it plays through both speakers. I am using windows 10.

Re: only left speaker plays when using Notation Composer
Hi,
I'm glad that you were able to get it sorted out. If you don't mind, could you post what you did to fix the issue in case others may run into the same problem? I wasn't able to replicate the conditions in my office here. Thanks! Sherry |
Re: only left speaker plays when using Notation Composer
AS it turns out I had all parts on the same channel and one part was balanced all the way to the left speaker and I guess that over rides the fact that all the other parts were balanced to the center.

Re: only left speaker plays when using Notation Composer
Hi, panworks:
It's probable that none of the centred channels actually had any panning information in them, centre being the default. Only the panned channel actually had any Controller 10 info in the midi stream. The other scenario is that the panned channel was the last track in the piece, as Composer works from top to bottom in the track list (I believe) and the last track assigned to a midi channel would override any others on the same channel. Yes, it appears that is the case. Good to know. Thank you
